Note: This set of straps wraps around the underside hull of your dinghy and then over the top of the davits. The ratchet is then used to apply the correct amount of tension to ensure that the dinghy and davits are completely immobilized for maximum safety while underway.- All-in-one solution to secure dinghies during passage
- Keeps your dinghy from moving (swinging, slamming, rocking, etc...) which is paramount to ensure your davits do not break or fail
- A moving, dynamic dinghy can quickly exceed the load carry capacity of a rated davit system by the additional forces being exerted on the dinghy. All too often sailors use available bits of old rope to try and secure a dinghy's motion. These attempts are many times futile, as the rope being used is undersized, cannot be tensioned properly, or exhibits stretch (elongation) while under load. For all these concerns, the D2S2 system is the solution
- Proven effective after four years of development and during gale-force conditions while offshore in 20-ft high waves
- 304 stainless steel ratchet has a minimum breaking strength of 4,400-lb. (2,000-kg) and a safe working load of 1,466-lb. (665-kg). Quickly secure a large dinghy and motor around your existing davits
- Each ratchet measures 7.5-in long (open position) and 5-in long (closed position). Entire set weighs 5-lb.
- The padded cover is constructed out of quality marine fabric, commercial closed-cell foam, with an exclusive polymer mesh grid (that allows the ratchet to air dry - even while in the covered position) and PTFE thread for long service life
- Strong, UV-resistant, non-stretch polyester webbing comes in a 14-ft length (1-7/8-in wide). With a minimum breaking strength of 6,000-lb. (2,727-kg) and a safe working load of 2,000-lb. (909-kg)
- New option for 2022 - addition of 3-inch loop of 3/4-inch black polyester webbing stitched onto the working end of the webbing
